Winter 2010 is upon us....Our first update for the year..
We’re still here!!!
During this time every year, the band hunkers down from the performance schedule as it takes a break during the winter months to continue composing new material for the next CD, as well as performing with their other respective projects (DOG HOUSE, Heroes for Ghosts, and SOUL ON TAP).
As the economy influences many of the bands gig’s, FOOTNOTE hopes to be returning to many of the same Spring / Summer festivals and events as in the recent past for 2010, so please check the performance schedule early spring for upcoming dates.
In the meantime, FOOTNOTE has also hooked up with Jeff Cosco, Stu Brown and crew at Sore Thumb Radio, a local entertainment internet search tool aimed at promoting local talent.

STR is the only comprehensive and in-depth local music web resource for greater Rochester.
STR lists local artists and their music – on the web.
STR connects local music to local audiences and abroad.

Speaking of gig’s and other projects, Heroes for Ghosts, a Pink Floyd tribute (which includes John Covach on Guitar, Jimmy Warlick on Bass, Mike Norton on Lead Vocals, Pete Halladay on Keyboards, and FOOTNOTE / DOG HOUSE drummer Keith Welch), will take the Water Street stage on February 20, performing Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety and featuring Bill Tiberio as guest saxophonist and Alana Cahoon on vocals.
Heroes for Ghosts will open the show for the phenomenal YES Tribute band Going for the One as they perform a set of classic Yes music, featuring tracks drawn from The Yes Album, Fragile, and Close to the Edge, plus the full-length version of "America." This exciting ensemble brings together five superb musicians who each have a rich history in performing progressive rock. Lead singer Jimmy Warlick possesses the high range necessary for Yes music and delivers the vocals with skill and confidence. The rest of the band is a combination of virtuoso players: John Covach on guitars, Chris Meeker on bass, Rich DellaPietra on keyboards, and Mario Encina on drums. Everybody in the band sings, allowing the group to accurately reproduce not only the demanding and powerful instrumental passages, but also the lush vocal harmonies found on the studio albums.
The combination of Yes and Pink Floyd music will make for a fired-up night of epic 70s music at Water Street that will have you saying “groovy” like you really mean it.

And continuing onward on the subject of other projects, DOG HOUSE is also sporting a new line–up for 2010 that includes guitarist Chris McKay and keyboardist Chris Ott, both from one of Rochester’s favorite party bands “Boy’s Lie”, along with Footnote’s very own Herb Renke on bass.
Herb will be joining the Dog’s on stage at the end of April, but look for DOG HOUSE 8pm Friday March 12th at the Finger Lakes Race Track with guest bassist Chris Northington.
